WEBINAR

Using the findings of research on CSAM users to strengthen global child protection efforts. What have we learnt and where do we go from here?

Protect Children organized an International Expert Webinar on 5 October 2021 for all professionals working in the field of child protection. The webinar was based on findings from our research on CSAM users in the Dark Web. Furthermore, we heard from a wide range of high-level experts in the field.

Protect Children’s Help us to help you & No need for help surveys, conducted as a part of the two-year ReDirection project funded by End Violence Against Children, have been answered by over 9 300 CSAM users in the Dark Web. With the innovative ReDirection project, Protect Children aims to prevent online crimes of sexual violence against children, including the creation, distribution, and viewing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The surveys, which are based on Cognitive Behavioral Theory, ask users of CSAM about their behavior, thoughts and emotions related to their use of CSAM. The unprecedented data was used to create the new ReDirection Self-Help Program for individuals who search for and use CSAM. For more information, read our press release.
