Protect Children Finnish 2023 Parliamentary Election Goals
Protect Children has outlined five main goals for the upcoming Finnish parliamentary elections in 2023.
The goals were produced in collaboration with the Protect Children "Our Voice" survivor group, to amplify the voices and wisdom of adult survivors of sexual abuse on childhood.
We need to change how crimes of sexual violence against children are prevented, investigated, and how victims are supported.
These are our goals for the upcoming Finnish parliamentary elections in 2023:
Increase minimum sentences for crimes of sexual violence against children
Repeal statute of limitations for crimes of sexual violence against children
Speed up criminal proceedings & provide support to victims and parents
Teach children safety skills, including digital safety skills
Strengthen offender-focused prevention of sexual violence against children
