Feedback from users suggests that ReDirection Self-Help Program successfully decreases CSAM use

The ReDirection Self-Help Program is an anonymous rehabilitative program which aims to help individuals stop using child sexual abuse materials (CSAM). 75% of users say that their use of CSAM has decreased or completely stopped.


The program is based on cognitive-behavioural theory and was developed by senior specialist psychologists and psychotherapists. The program is currently available in English and Spanish on the surface web and on the dark web.


There have been over 70,000 visits to the ReDirection Self-Help Program since it was launched in September 2021. Nearly half of the visitors have accessed the program via the dark web.


57 users of the ReDirection Self-Help Program have provided feedback through a voluntary user satisfaction survey placed at the end of the program.


Preliminary feedback from users of the ReDirection Self-Help Program

  • 75% said that their use of CSAM has decreased, or they have completely stopped using CSAM after starting the ReDirection Self-Help Program.

  • 71% of the respondents said that the part of the program they found most helpful was reflecting on their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

  • 78% of the respondents said that they would not change anything about the ReDirection Self-Help Program.
